VALORANT: First day of VCT Qualifier has technical problems, postponement and broadcast controversy

The first qualifier for the VALORANT Challengers Brazil 2022 was scheduled to start on Wednesday (12), but had to be postponed due to instability problems on the championship platform, as reported by Riot Games. The day was also marked by controversy over the broadcast of some games.

Technical issues and VCT Qualifier postponement

With that, the selection that would take place between the days January 12th and 16th was rescheduled to take place between the days January 13th and 17th. This also impacts the next qualifier, which will take place between the 20th and 24th of January.

According to Gamers Club, the platform on which the VCT qualifiers will be held, the table of confrontations and schedules will not be changed. The games are scheduled to start at 6 pm, but will not have an official broadcast.

Each of the open qualifiers qualifies two teams for the closed qualifier, which already has the following invited teams: INGAMING, Los Grandes, TBK, MIBR and Ninjas in Pajamas. From each closed qualifier, two teams pass, which join Team VikingsGamelandersVivo KeydSharksHavan Liberty and FURY.

Game broadcast controversy

As already mentioned, there is no official transmission of the qualifiers, but players, teams and even tournament narrators can broadcast the games, as long as the teams in question agree.

The subject was controversial on the first day, as most teams were denying the broadcast. Tixinha, one of the narrators VALORANT Challengers Brazil 2022, commented that all teams sought by him had denied the broadcast.

Melão13, one of the analysts of the Brazilian championship of Valorant, also criticized the attitude of the teams: “The guys play all year with a broadcast match. An unnecessary preciosity of the teams”.

The reason cited by most teams and team representatives is that they wanted to hide some strategies, or even preserve their players from broadcast exposure.

The player Sacy, considered one of the best in the Brazilian scenario, said that if there is a possibility of not broadcasting, “it makes no sense” for them to release their game broadcast while other teams do not, which would provide study material for opponents.

Hey guys, if you really have the option of not broadcasting our game, I’ll choose not to broadcast it, it doesn’t make sense to just stream our game, giving material to another team that I can face and I don’t have vod from any of them (? ) If the rule is: caster can enter the room and broadcast whatever he wants without asking permission, there’s nothing to do, just go but if he really has the option, I won’t just let our team be streamed and the others go without That’s what I think, speaking cool even without bullshit.
