Street Fighter V: Worlds Canceled Due to Rising Wave of COVID-19

Capcom has revealed in recent days that the Capcom Cup 2021 will be canceled due to the growing number of COVID-19 cases. The Street Fighter V Worlds was scheduled to take place in February of this year, but will be rearranged into a series of online events that will end seasons around the world.

The announcement was published on social media, check it out below in English.

Two Brazilians had qualified for the event. However, a series of controversies involving an alleged case of gang rape last week ended up banishing Robinho from all Capcom events, including Worlds. With that, only RonaldinhoBR had the spot for the event.

Information about the event that will replace the Street Fighter V Capcom Cup will be revealed soon, stay tuned!
